in this text, Elizabeth Groze talks about Lacan, Lacan was a psychologist who followed on from froyd, developed an idea called the mirror stage, the point at which you become able to realise the person in the mirror is you. But is is not you, you set up a psychological barrier between you and the mirror. It is an idealised version of you on the exterior. She discusses what we believe is good and bad about our bodies based on this theory.
