COLLABORATIONS

STUDENT COLLABORATIONS DURING THE PROJECT

AUB FASHION SHOW 2015 AND FASHION FILM FOR GRADUATE FASHION WEEK

ROLE: MAKE UP DESIGNER

LEAD MAKE UP ARTIST FOR FASHION FILM, MAIN MODEL

Fashion make up incorporating copper leaf, I had to look at current and up and coming fashion trends in make up for the design and application of the make up. The above are photographs of the practise run where I tried two different looks on  each side of the models face and below are images of the model on the day of filming. I do not have a copy of the fashion film yet but have requested. it.

THE PATHFINDER

BU GRADUATE FILM

ROLE: MAKE UP DESIGNER

MAKE UP ARTIST

I found that working on the Pathfinder film benefited me during this project due to the technicality in the sculpts and application. I had to sculpt the Orc ears and I'd never been through this process before so it was daunting initially. The ears were a silicone and plaster squish mould and cast in gelatine, I found the technique easy once I knew how to lay on the flashing and I will continue to use this particular technique for creating ears in my third year of study. I was one of the lead make up artists to paint the Orc and had to paint on abs ans define his natural shape with water based paints, this had to be reaplied throughout the day due to his costume rubbing off the paint. Myself and Rebecca Stock created scarrification and a false tattoo with a raised skin outline on one of the actors and this was good practise using sculpt gel, the scars looked natural and we were happy with how they looked on film.

I also created a slit throat flat piece for one of the actresses and I found this the most difficult as I had to look at reference images from photographs and other original sources. I sculpted the neck wound open due to her lifting her head and pulling away from the camera during the scene. I also applied and painted both of the prosthetics on the day of filming and the slit throat had to be applied and painted in ten minutes. I think the experience has encouraged me to work quickly and efficiently during a busy film set and I have learned to work within a team of individuals were everyone has an important role to play. The atmosphere was tense and stressful due to the weather conditions, however, everyone pulled through and worked well along side one another.

COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY STUDENT

FASHION, WOMEN IN THE FORCES

ROLE: LEAD MAKE-UP ARTIST

I collaborated with a photography student on a photoshoot which focused on women in the forces and stereotypes, along side this, she was advertising garments for missguided and the models were dressed in their gymwear. The make up was fashion based, heavy contouring and highlighting with a natural lip and eye palette.

MAKE-UP DESIGNER: TAYLOR ROWE

ROLE: MAKE UP ASSISTANT

I assisted the application of the prosthetics for this make up designed by a third year student Taylor Rowe, this is the second time I have assisted taylor with one of her final make ups and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I felt as though I learned a lot through assisting and she was happy to answer any questions I had about moulding the prosthetics, I found it most helpful because I knew she had been through similar experiences and the result was phenomenal. The final make up looked flawless and moved perfectly with the models natural movements.
